Visiting our shop in Utrecht is like stepping into a different world. Not a typical storefront, but a place filled with aromas, flavors, and a love for the traditional craft. Here, in our backyard, you'll find honey from our own hive and from beekeeper friends around the world.
We are Hanife and Ahmet Taskan, and together we run this shop with great love. What started with a few beehives in our garden grew during the coronavirus pandemic into an online store full of unique honey varieties, all sourced from beekeepers who, just like us, care for their bees with heart and soul.
A family story full of bee love
Our love for bees goes back to our roots. Ahmet learned the trade from his grandfather in Turkey, where bees are considered sacred creatures. Beekeeping was more than a hobby in his home; it was practically a religion. Hanife grew up by the Black Sea, where honey was on the table every day: on toast, with butter, or simply plain. For us, honey isn't just something sweet; it's an elixir of life. Gold, straight from nature.

In our shop, visitors always sample jars of all sorts, scents, and flavors first. After all, why buy something if you don't know if you'll truly love it? Whether you're drawn to the powerful flavor of Italian chestnut honey, the floral softness of Spanish lavender honey, or the earthy depth of our own Dutch heather honey, there's always a story behind every jar.
More than honey
For us, it's not just about what bees produce, but also about what they teach us: patience, cooperation, and living in harmony with nature. Sometimes we just sit by the hives, quietly watching the bees. How they carry pollen in brightly colored balls on their legs. How they, thousands of them, work as a single organism. It's both soothing and impressive.
Our mission
We don't sell blended honey. No compromises. No mass production. Only pure honey from beekeepers who work like us: with respect for bees, nature, and tradition. Everything you find in our store or webshop has been carefully selected, and you can taste it.
