Learn more about our local beekeeper in the Netherlands, where our Dutch honey comes from. Depending on where the bees gather their nectar, different types of honey are produced. The hives where our Balsam honey comes from are located in the Biesbosch National Park, a beautiful nature reserve with a rich diversity of flora, including the Balsam plant. The nectar from this plant gives the honey its unique, delicate flavor and aromatic character.

Balsam honey is a type of honey often sourced from the Biesbosch National Park. The honey has a fairly light color and doesn't crystallize easily.

Texture

The balsam honey has a fluid and soft texture.

You can eat balsam honey in many different ways. For example, you can simply eat it with a spoon. You can then let it melt on your tongue, or swallow it immediately. You can also stir it into your yogurt or food.

Shelf life

Honey doesn't actually have an expiration date, but its flavor can fade over time. Therefore, it's best consumed within two years.

Balsam honey is not suitable for children under 1 year of age. It is also not suitable for people with allergies to bee products.
