BBQ Honey-Garlic Chicken Skewers
These BBQ chicken skewers with honey and garlic are a real flavor sensation. The marinade provides a beautiful balance of sweet, savory, and a hint of spice. A delicious summer dish that everyone will appreciate.
Ingredients (for approx. 4 people)
- 600 g chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Skewers (wood or metal)
Preparation Method
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning (not necessary for metal skewers).
- Make a marinade from honey, garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Put the chicken cubes in a bowl and mix well with the marinade. Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (preferably longer).
- Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers.
- Grill the skewers on a hot barbecue (or grill pan) for approx. 10–12 minutes until cooked through. Turn regularly and brush with any leftover marinade in between.
- Serve warm, optionally with a fresh salad or grilled vegetables.
Tip: Add pieces of bell pepper, zucchini, or red onion to the skewers for extra color and flavor!
