Meet the beekeeper

Meet our local beekeeper in Mexico, where our Yucatán honey comes from. This honey is produced by bees that gather nectar from wildflowers and tropical plants in the Yucatán region. Thanks to the care and passion of our beekeepers, you can taste the authentic flavors of the sunny Yucatán in every drop.

Product description

Yucatan honey is produced by bees that collect nectar from the blossoms of plants in the Yucatan region of Mexico. These bees are typically found in areas where these specific plants grow. The nectar they collect is processed by the bees into honey, with a distinctive flavor reminiscent of Yucatan flora.

Texture

Yucatan honey from Mexico is characterized by its fluid texture. Despite this fluidity, the honey retains the rich and full flavor typical of Yucatan honey.

How can this honey be eaten/used?

Yucatan honey is a delicious honey that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Raw : The easiest and perhaps most delicious way to enjoy Yucatan honey is raw. Simply take a spoonful and savor the rich, full flavor.

  2. In treats : Yucatan honey can also be added to various treats such as bread, fruit and yogurt for a sweet touch.

  3. In tea : Add a dash of Yucatan honey to your tea for a natural sweetness.

Note! If you plan to stir honey into your tea, make sure it's no warmer than 40 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius can destroy the enzymes in the honey.

While Yucatan honey can be consumed in many ways, it's important to remember that the honey retains its unique properties best when eaten raw.

Shelf life

Although honey has an unlimited shelf life, its flavor may change slightly over time. For the best taste, we recommend consuming the honey within two years of purchase.

Allergen information

Honingwinkel's Yucatan honey is not recommended for children under 1 year of age or those allergic to bee products.
