Meet the beekeeper

Discover our local beekeeper from New Zealand, where our Thyme Honey originates. This special honey is created when bees collect nectar from flowering thyme plants (Thymus vulgaris) growing in the rugged landscape of New Zealand.

The thyme plant flowers in summer and attracts bees with its aromatic blossoms. This results in a honey with a deep, amber hue and a powerful, spicy flavour with subtle floral and herbal notes.

Our beehives are spread across natural thyme fields, ensuring a rich nectar source and supporting the local biodiversity. Through the dedication of our beekeepers, who treat their bees with care and respect, the unique taste and high quality of this Thyme Honey are achieved.

Product description

Thyme honey is a special type of honey derived from the nectar of thyme flowers. Thyme is an aromatic herb known for its powerful properties. Bees collect nectar from thyme flowers and convert it into thyme honey. The unique properties of thyme give this honey a characteristic taste and aroma.

Taste

Thyme honey has an intense flavour that varies from sweet to spicy, with undertones of thyme. It also has a delightful aroma reminiscent of the natural environment in which thyme grows.

Texture

Thyme honey generally has a liquid consistency, making it easy to handle and use.

    How to eat/use this honey

Thyme honey can be used and applied in various ways. Here are some suggestions:

    • Spread: Spread thyme honey on fresh bread, toast or crackers for a delicious sweet treat.
    • Addition to drinks: Add a spoonful of thyme honey to hot drinks such as tea or milk.
    • Cooking and baking: Thyme honey can be used as a sweetener in various dishes, marinades and dressings to add extra flavour.
