Product description

Cherry blossom honey is a monofloral honey made from the nectar and pollen of cherry blossoms belonging to the sweet cherry (Prunus avium) species, also known as wild cherry.

Cherry blossom honey is also not as common compared to other types. This is because cherry trees bloom early in the spring, in March-April. At this time of year, honeybees are searching for nectar to raise new offspring, and they primarily use cherry blossom nectar as food, rather than for honey production. If there aren't abundant cherry nectar sources, honeybees may run out of cherry nectar by the time they're ready to make honey and will therefore seek out other flowers that are currently in bloom. However, where there are extensive cherry orchards, honeybees usually have enough nectar for themselves and their offspring, and to begin honey production.

Taste

Cherry blossom honey doesn't have an intense aroma. Its mild scent is reminiscent of cherry blossoms and carries a floral, cherry aroma. The variety has a characteristically fruity, yet sweet-tart, warm flavor with cherry notes. Some also find the flavor earthy and woody. Its consistency is usually not very dense, but rather slightly fluid (but not runny).

Texture

Weyn's cherry blossom honey has a creamy texture.

How to eat/use the honey ?

You can enjoy Weyn's cherry blossom honey in many different ways. For example, you can simply eat the honey with a spoon. You can then let it melt on your tongue or swallow it immediately. You can also stir it into your yogurt or food.

Note! If you want to stir honey into your tea, it's best to keep your tea no warmer than 40°C (104°F). Once your tea is warmer than 40°C (104°F), the honey's enzymes can be destroyed.

Allergen information

Weyn's cherry blossom honey is not suitable for children under 1 year of age. It is also not suitable for people with allergies to bee products.

Shelf life

Honey doesn't actually have an expiration date, but its flavor can fade over time. Therefore, it's best consumed within two years.
