Product Description

Country of origin

Spain

Product description

Chestnut honey is a special honey variety produced by bees that feed on the nectar of chestnut tree flowers. The chestnut tree, which grows in abundance in Spain, gives this honey its characteristic dark color and distinctive flavor.

Taste

Premium chestnut honey has a complex flavor that's less sweet than many other honeys. It offers a unique balance of sweetness and a subtle bitterness. Besides its distinctive flavor, this honey also has a slightly bitter aftertaste, making it an attractive choice for gourmets.

Texture

The chestnut honey available at Honingwinkel has a soft, fluid texture. This makes it easy to use and measure. When you open a jar of chestnut honey, you'll enjoy its creamy consistency that spreads effortlessly.

How to eat/use the honey ?

Chestnut honey is versatile and can be consumed in various ways. You can simply take a spoonful of honey and let it melt slowly on your tongue to savor the rich flavors. You can also mix the honey into yogurt or other dishes for a natural sweetener.

However, if you plan to add the honey to boiling water, make sure the temperature of the tea doesn't exceed 40°C (104°F). At higher temperatures, the enzymes in the honey can lose their nutritional value.

Allergen information

Please note that chestnut honey is not suitable for children under 1 year of age. In addition, people with allergies to bee products should exercise caution when consuming this honey.

Shelf life

Honey naturally has a long shelf life and doesn't spoil quickly. Although honey doesn't have a specific expiration date, its flavor can change over time. To fully enjoy chestnut honey, it's recommended to consume it within two years of purchase.
