Product Description

Country of origin The Netherlands (Traditional recipe)

Discover the craft

Explore the world of our authentic 'hakhoning' (chopped honey) – an age-old delicacy prepared with passion. Our hakhoning is still made according to a traditional recipe, with pure natural honey as its base. The addition of natural extracts, such as sunny lemon, creates a wonderfully tasting sweet.

Product description

Lemon Hakhoning consists of artisanal, soft honey pieces enriched with a fresh lemon aroma. This product is known for its bright, fruity scent and characteristic texture that slowly melts in the mouth.

Flavour

Lemon Hakhoning offers a perfect balance between the natural sweetness of honey and the lively, tangy freshness of lemon. The result is a summery taste experience that is both refreshing and accessible.

Texture

This product has a distinctive 'hakhoning' texture: firm pieces that become pleasantly soft when consumed. The consistency makes it easy to eat the honey pieces directly as a sweet or to dissolve them in a warm liquid.

Usage tips

Lemon Hakhoning is versatile in use:

  • As a sweet: Let a piece slowly melt in your mouth for a fruity taste experience.

  • In tea: Add a few pieces to a cup of black or green tea for a subtle lemon twist.

  • Summer Iced Tea: Dissolve the hakhoning in a little warm water and combine with cold water, ice cubes, and a slice of fresh lemon for a natural lemonade.

  • Culinary: Use the finely crushed pieces as a decorative and flavourful garnish over a dessert, such as vanilla ice cream or quark.

Shelf life

Hakhoning is a product with a long shelf life. To optimally preserve its texture and fresh lemon flavour, we recommend storing the hakhoning in a cool, dry place and consuming it within 18 months of purchase.
