Product Description

Country of origin

Mexico

Product description

Forest honey is a special type of honey that originates from honeydew, a natural sweet substance collected by bees from trees and plants in wooded areas. Unlike nectar honey, which is extracted from flowers, forest honey thus originates in the forest itself. This results in a rich and distinct honey with a unique character.

Taste

Forest honey has a full, aromatic flavor with notes reminiscent of caramel, spices, and a hint of resin. The taste is less overtly sweet than that of floral honey and often has a slightly savory or earthy undertone. Its color varies from dark amber to almost black, reflecting the depth and intensity of its flavor.

Texture

Weyn's organic forest honey has a liquid texture. It is easy to pour and mix, making it perfect for sweetening hot drinks like tea and coffee. Its liquid consistency also makes it easy to use the honey as a topping on dishes or to mix with other ingredients when cooking and baking.

How to eat/use the honey?

Organic forest honey is a versatile sweetener that can be used in various ways:

  1. As a natural sweetener: Add a dash of organic forest honey to your favorite hot drinks, such as tea, coffee, or warm milk. It provides a delicious sweetness and aroma.
  2. In cooking and baking: Use organic forest honey as a healthier alternative to refined sugar in your recipes. It adds flavor to pastries, dressings, marinades, and sauces.
  3. As a spread: Spread a little organic forest honey on fresh bread, crackers, or rice cakes for a natural and sweet treat.

Shelf life

Honey naturally has a long shelf life and does not spoil, but its flavor can fade over time. To enjoy the best quality, it is recommended to consume forest honey within two years of purchase. Ensure the jar is tightly sealed and store the honey in a cool, dark place.

Allergen information

Please note: Forest honey is not suitable for children under 1 year of age, and people with an allergy to bee products should be cautious when consuming it.
