Sea buckthorn honey is a blend of honey and sea buckthorn. Sea buckthorn is a shrub that also grows in the Netherlands. These shrubs grow primarily along dunes and in areas with a high pH.

Taste

Sea buckthorn honey has a sweet, strong flavor. The sweetness comes from the honey, while the slightly stronger flavor comes from the sea buckthorn.

Texture

The honey with sea buckthorn from Traay has a brownish colour and a creamy texture.

How can you use or eat the honey?

You can enjoy De Traay's sea buckthorn honey in many different ways. For example, you can simply eat the honey with a spoon. You can then let it melt on your tongue or swallow it immediately. You can also stir the honey into your yogurt or food.

Note! If you want to stir honey into your tea, it's best to keep your tea no warmer than 40°C (104°F). Once your tea is warmer than 40°C (104°F), the honey's enzymes can be destroyed.

De Traay's sea buckthorn honey is not suitable for children under 1 year of age. It is also not suitable for people with allergies to bee products.

Shelf life

Honey doesn't actually have an expiration date, but its flavor can fade over time. Therefore, it's best consumed within two years.
