Product Description

Country of origin

Greece

Product description

Forest honey is a special type of honey that originates from honeydew, a natural sweet substance collected by bees from trees and plants in forested areas. Unlike nectar honey, which is harvested from flowers, forest honey thus has its origins in the forest itself. This results in a rich and distinct honey with a unique character.

Taste

Forest honey has a full, aromatic taste with notes reminiscent of caramel, herbs, and a hint of resin. The taste is less overtly sweet than that of floral honey and often has a slightly savory or earthy undertone. The color varies from dark amber to almost black, reflecting the depth and intensity of its flavor.

Texture

The organic wild forest honey has a silky smooth and liquid texture. It glides effortlessly from the spoon and mixes easily with other ingredients. This smooth texture makes it ideal for use as a sweet addition to various dishes and drinks.

How to eat/use the honey?

There are several ways to enjoy Vasilissa's organic wild forest honey. You can simply eat the honey directly with a spoon and let it slowly melt on your tongue for a full flavor experience. Additionally, you can use the honey as a delicious addition to your yogurt, cereals, or other favorite dishes.

If you enjoy tea, you can also use the honey in your warm beverage. Please note that the temperature of your tea should not exceed 40°C, as this can affect the enzymes in the honey. Make sure your tea has cooled sufficiently before adding the honey to preserve the best taste and nutritional value.

Shelf life

Honey naturally has a long shelf life and does not spoil quickly. Although honey does not have a specific expiration date, its flavor may fade over time. To enjoy the best quality and taste, it is recommended to consume the honey within two years of purchase. Store the honey in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Allergen information

It is important to note that organic wild forest honey is not suitable for children under 1 year of age. Additionally, the honey is not suitable for people with an allergy to bee products. If you are unsure whether you are allergic to honey, always consult a doctor before consuming it.
