Product description

Mountain honey is a type of honey derived from honeydew from pine, oak or chestnut trees and various types of flowers. The honey often comes from New Zealand or Central/South America.

Taste

Mountain honey has a mild, yet also somewhat spicy taste.

Texture

The organic mountain honey has a creamy structure and therefore a somewhat smooth texture.

How can you use or eat honey?

- As a natural sweetener
- Drizzled over food: yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, and toast for a delicious and healthy breakfast.
- As a spice: Mountain honey can be used as a spice for meats, such as chicken, pork, or lamb, or as a glaze for roasted vegetables.
- In combination with cheese: goat cheese, brie, or blue cheese, for a sweet and savory snack or appetizer.

Please note! If you want to stir honey into your tea, it is advisable that your tea is no hotter than 40 C°. As soon as your tea is hotter than 40 C°, the enzymes in the honey can be lost.

Allergen information

De Traay mountain honey is not suitable for children under 1 year old. Additionally, it is not suitable for people with an allergy to bee products.

Shelf life

Honey technically has no expiration date, but its flavor can fade over time. It is therefore best to consume the honey within two years.
