Product Description

Country of origin

Turkey

Product description

Anzer Bali (honey) is produced by honeybees on the plateau of the village of Anzer in the Rize province of Turkey. Approximately 500 species of flowers grow annually on this plateau, 90 of which are endemic to the area. Because there are no trees on this plateau, no tree pollen is used in the honey. This honey is known for its medicinal properties. This makes it relatively expensive and difficult to obtain.

Due to the plateau's altitude, honeybees can only gather honey during the months of June, July, and August. In some years, bees are unable to gather honey due to weather conditions.

Genuine Anzer honey is certified by one of Turkey's renowned universities, Hacettepe University. Hacettepe University only performs this certification through the beekeeping cooperative "SS Anzer Ballikoy Kooperatifi" because all beekeepers who produce Anzer honey are members of this cooperative.

Taste

Anzer honey has a fairly intense flavour.

Texture

The texture of Anzer honey differs from other honeys due to its high pollen content. The bees that produce Anzer honey collect nectar from various flowers growing on the Anzer plateau, including rhododendron, cherry, apple, and wildflowers. These flowers are rich in pollen, which the bees carry back to the hive and incorporate into the honey. This high pollen content gives the honey its thick, creamy texture and unique flavor.

How to use/eat this honey?

Take one teaspoon of Anzer Bali once a day on an empty stomach at least half an hour before breakfast. In some cases, it's also recommended to take it three times a day. In that case, it's best to take one teaspoon of Anzer Honey at least three hours after eating.

Allergen information

The anzer honey of SS Köy Kooperatifi is not suitable for children under 1 year of age. It is also not suitable for people with allergies to bee products.

Shelf life

Honey doesn't actually have an expiration date, but its flavor can fade over time. Therefore, it's best consumed within two years.
