Making propolis tincture – 100% natural and easy to prepare yourself
Looking for a powerful natural remedy for your health? Learn how to easily make your own propolis tincture —a versatile solution based on bee propolis and alcohol. Propolis has been known for centuries for its antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. By making your own tincture, you know exactly what's in it and benefit from a pure and natural product, without additives.
What is propolis tincture?
Propolis tincture is a liquid extract made by dissolving raw propolis (a resinous substance from bees) in alcohol. This process extracts the active ingredients from the propolis, making them suitable for both internal and external use. The result: a powerful natural remedy with a wide range of applications for the skin, mouth, throat, and immune system.
Make your own propolis tincture – simple recipe
What do you need:
30 grams of raw propolis (preferably ground)
100 ml pure alcohol (minimum 70%, e.g. ethanol or grain alcohol)
Dark glass bottle with pipette
Sieve or coffee filter
Steps:
Add the ground propolis to a sealable glass jar.
Pour in the alcohol and seal well.
Let this mixture steep for 2 to 4 weeks in a cool, dark place.
Shake the jar daily to release the active ingredients.
After the reaction time, filter the liquid and pour it into a dark bottle.
Store in a cool, dry place.
You now have your own propolis tincture – ready to use!
How do you use propolis tincture?
Internal: Dissolve 2–3 drops in water or place under the tongue (for a sore throat, cold or to support resistance).
